ABOUT KEY
Kathleen Egan
Kathleen spent her early adulthood working with at risk children and families where she saw the need for an alternative to traditional therapeutic methods and interventions. While working as a Youth Worker and Child Protection Caseworker Kathleen worked with many children and young people who had experienced childhood trauma. Kathleen noticed that traditional talk therapies were not always accessible for people who had experienced childhood trauma so stated to explore alternative therapies which integrated body experience with traditional therapies. This is where Kathleen came into contact with movement therapies and Trauma Center, Trauma Sensitive Yoga.
Since first connecting with yoga as a teenager in Australia, Kathleen has integrated yoga into her daily life; growing and honing her own personal practice and establishing herself as a Vinyasa and Children’s Yoga Teacher as well as a Trauma Centre, Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator. Kathleen has experienced first-hand the benefit movement practices have on the development and learning of young people. Kathleen adores her role and feels privileged to share yoga with so many lovely adults and young people, watching them flourish and grow in their personal practices. Kathleen’s group and private practices give space for people to experience yoga, giving balance, body and movement awareness while maintaining a sense of fun and play.
